NEIP/ISPACE TRAINING PROGRAM COMES TO AN END

After a month of intense business development training, the participants of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) pitched their businesses to a panel at iSpace Foundation. The panel included Josiah Eyison, Co-founder of iSpace Foundation, Monique Gyemfi, facilitator and tutor of NEIP training and Emmanuel Mbalam, tutor and facilitator of NEIP training. A total of about 45 entrepreneurs participated in the training.

The NEIP participants are entrepreneurs in various industries such as agriculture, education, fashion, logistics, technology etc. The participants pitched about what their business is about, the problems they are solving and also presented their financial projections for their businesses.

Here’s what some of them had to say about the training after they had gone through a successful pitching exercise:

Ebenezer Kwaku Ofori is the CEO of Tawo Mobile Technology. The company is into mobile app development and services. According to Ebenezer, the training had been of great benefit to him and he has learnt a lot. He added that he now has knowledge about the things to include in his pitch deck, also through the training he had gotten a mentor.

Hamdia Mahama is the CEO of Chic Events, and she is into events planning and the making of rosettes and fascinators. She also organizes training programs for girls in deprived areas. Hamdia made it clear in her interview with iSpace Media that she had built her knowledge on how to manage her business and how to pitch her business to investors. She also added that she has acquired knowledge on networking and how to choose investors.

Nana Yaa Apem, who manages the overall operations of Swift Space Consulting concluded she is grateful to iSpace for all the knowledge she has acquired, especially under the Business Model Canvas and the Financial Model. Again she added that she hopes to be selected in order to receive the government funding to expand her business.

NEIP training is a flagship policy of the government of Ghana in providing business support for accelerated job creation to support youth enterprises, startups and existing business. The training program is a partnership between NEIP and various hubs including iSpace Foundation. Out of the 7000 applicants of the nationwide training a total of 500 participants will be selected and supported in terms of funding and other needed logistics.
